Facebook connect with Auth component of CakePHP

Facebook is everywhere, isn’t it ?

Slowly, it is becoming source for single sign-on as more and more website try to authenticate using Facebook. It is surely convinient and provides safer experience for users as they don’t have to create account on every website. Other providers like Google and Yahoo also have same feature.  OpenID based authentication is gaining much more momentum.

Everyone using cakePHP may need “Facebook Connect” at some point.

Here is good article summarizing it. Good part is that is integrated with “Auth” compoent of cakePHP. So even less coding then starting from scratch. Good  implementation.

Next step would be make it a “Plugin” in cakePHP !

If you can think of any other or better way of doing it, feel free to write/comment.
